Good morning.Eldridge Park in Elmira is receiving a nine hundred thousand dollar state grant to construct a brand-new skate and bike park. Governor Kathy Hochul announced the funding to replace the current twenty-five-year-old facility. Elmira Mayor Dan Mandell states the new layout will feature modern jump rails, quarter pipes, and a concrete bowl to create a major regional tourism draw.Meanwhile, New York officials are responding to a six-to-three United States Supreme Court decision upholding birthright citizenship. The high court ruled that the administration cannot alter the constitutional guarantee through an executive order. New York Attorney General Letitia James, who led the multi-state lawsuit, expressed relief for families, calling birthright citizenship a foundational promise.And independent political activist Julian Raven has launched his campaign for Elmira mayor ahead of the twenty-twenty-seven election.
